Hello, I’m Laura 🙂
I wanted to create a lifestyle blog to make me accountable for the positive changes I’m trying to make at the moment. There are several aspects of my life that I am currently unhappy with and want to improve for several reasons…
Firstly, I’m unhealthy. I don’t exercise enough and my diet is terrible – I make all the ‘wrong’ choices and my portion sizes are out of control! So the mission is simple – move more, enjoy healthy food and stop stuffing my face with as much grub as I can handle!
stop spending money use budgeting as a way to get a grip on my finances. Anybody who knows me well will tell you I have a pretty unhealthy relationship with money; it burns a hole in my pocket and I can’t wait to spend it. I’m very much of the mindset that I work hard for what I earn and should be able to buy what I please. And that isn’t changing. But it’s my priorities that are beginning to change (I think I’m going to end up using the word change a lot throughout this blog!) and I no longer want to throw away cash on nice clothes and aaaaaallllll the make up. Instead, I have a wedding to save up for (eeeeeek!!), a house to run (ahem adulting!) and a future family to consider. I want to save and be financially responsible.
I don’t intend for this blog to be all “doom-and-gloom-let’s-be-serious-and-get-our-sh*t-together” with posts on budgets and Bickram yoga vs spinning (I don’t think I would ever enjoy either!) but I want a place to record this exciting part of my life. To archive the moments my fiancé and I spend together as we plan and look forward to our wedding, to explore ways to cut down on spending and still have fun (is that even possible?!) and basically give a little insight into the journey I’m embarking on. And if I happen to entertain/help people along the way? Amazing!
Welcome to Life. Growth. Love!
